*Formally there are two central military committees in the People's republic of China: one of the Chinese Communist Party, one of the People's Republic of China. However in practice the personnel of both committees are identical, and there is not a practical distinction between the two. Formal commands of the committee are usually issued in the name of Central Military Commitee of the People's Republic of China. This is one of the example of China's party-state system, in which the ruling communist party is deeply enmeshed into the governance structure.
